Lopburi
Lopburi is the provincial capital in the province of Lopburi in central Thailand. The population is estimated (2005) at 57,800. Changwat Lop Buri (province of Lopburi) is a province in central Thailand. The province borders the following Thai provinces from north to south (clockwise): Phetchabun,
Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Saraburi, Ayutthaya, Ang Thong, Sing Buri og Nakhon Sawan. Phetchabun, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Saraburi, Ayutthaya, Ang Thong, Sing Buri and Nakhon Sawan. The area is 6199.8 km ², and the population (2000) is estimated at 745,506 inhabitants. Its capital is the town of Lop Buri. Lop Buri’s best known for its large ape temple, where the “sacred” monkeys go about freely in the city.
